 If you are only going to buy one new dress in summer 2024, it has to be a crochet dress, which best manifests a current trend called "quiet luxury." A beige crochet dress especially exudes an understatedly tasteful appeal, so it will look more expensive than the actual price tag. For those of us with curves, however, the sheath silhouette of a crochet dress may make the waist appear wider. That's why we must belt it. We also need a wide belt to prevent a muffin top. A thin belt can only work for those super skinny. Last but not least, pair your beige crochet dress with canvas shoes or fisherman sandals for a very laid-back vibe.   Rosettes are in style right now. Why not don a summer dress that features a huge one at the center of the neckline? Such a huge rosette will draw attention to your collar bone and its extra large size will make you look thinner by contrast. It will be surprisingly flattering. Don't think wearing black is the only way to create a slimming visual effect. For those of us with curves, it is important to cinch the waist. Otherwise we would look bigger than we actually are.  Last but not least, if your dress reveals your calves, don't put on shoes with ankle straps. Those would optically shorten your legs. If you like straps or bows on your shoes, they should be positioned below your ankles, like the bows on my shoes, to do your calves justice. Happy summer!
